The 2021 NFWI Annual Meeting will be held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Monday 19 April 2021.
As this year’s NFWI Annual Meeting had been due to take place at the Royal Albert Hall, it is great news that NFWI have been able to secure a date for 2021. Next year is also the Royal Albert Hall’s 150th anniversary so it is a particularly special year for us to be part of their calendar of events
Look out for further information on how to order tickets/be a Delegate/Observer in the coming months in our newsletter/Facebook page and Website.
Update 19.3.20 - ALL WI meetings should be suspended for 3 months.
Dorothy Meekins and the Board of Trustees hope you and your families keep safe and well during this time of uncertainty.
PLEASE NOTE THE FEDERATION OFFICE AT HALL CROSS COTTAGE IS CLOSED.
PLEASE CONTACT THE OFFICE BY EMAIL firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope you are well. As WI's meetings have temporarily suspended and newsletters cannot be circulated in the normal way, we are giving members the opportunity to view/print off a copy for yourself from our Website. Just go to the 'Downloads' tab and look for 'April newsletter/May newsletter' in the alphabetical list. WI Secretaries have also been emailed a copy to circulate to their members if possible. Going forward we would like to continue with the circulation of the newsletter as it is a great way to keep members connected at a time when we could all do with some light relief. Therefore, we would like to ask you to send by email, any funny stories/articles, poems, photographs, problem solving puzzles or anything you think other members would be interested in. We hope that this will keep members in touch with each other and the WI world! We can't wait to see what you send.
We are pleased to inform you that a visit and tour of Belvoir Castle has been arranged for Monday 26 April 2021. If enough members want to go we can organise 2 coaches, one going from Doncaster and the second from Sheffield. If not, one coach will be arranged with 2 pick up points. Arriving in advance of the tour at 11 am, we will spend the full day here, leaving at approximately 4 pm. The cost of the Guided Tour and access to the gardens is £16.20. Details of the cost of the coach(es) will be determined when we know how many people would like to visit; however, it is hoped that this will cost members no more than £20 (in addition to the admission price).
Belvoir Castle is a great place to visit, it dates back to the 11th Century, a guided tour of the Castle will be included and there are also gardens and lakes to explore with plenty of retail
therapy opportunities too in the Engine Yard Retail Park! Local food, artisan shopping and the best of country living from the latest fashions and accessories to homewares, crafts and toys. There is also a restaurant and tea room.
Due to the nature of the property disabled access is unfortunately limited, the Castle ground floor is accessible, without ramps or slopes. The entrance door is 80cm wide. Wheelchair users may access the Guard room, Portico, Castle kitchens, Pastry room, Gift shop and Tea rooms. There is no lift inside.
